Brazilian midfielder, Willian has revealed his
conversation with Hull City’s David Meyler
that made the player miss his spot-kick
against Chelsea in the FA Cup tie on Friday.
Chelsea scored four goals before the break
against Hull at Stamford Bridge to reach the
quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Meyler had a chance to pull a goal back for the
visitors with a penalty after half-time but the
Republic of Ireland international had his
penalty saved by Chelsea keeper, Willy
Caballero.
Willian was captured getting in Meyler’s face
before he missed the penalty and the Brazilian
revealed what was said during their
conversation
He told beIN SPORTS, “I told him ‘no pressure,
no pressure!’
“I told him ‘you’re going to lose’ and ‘you’re
gonna make a mistake’ and he said ‘shut up,
shut up!’”
The Brazilian international further highlighted
the importance of Chelsea gaining some much-
need momentum ahead of their Champions
League clash with Barcelona next week.
He added, “I think in football always you have
to improve and we did that and in these two
weeks we worked hard, tried to improve
ourselves.
“It’s important to get back to winning and
now we have the big game on Tuesday.”
